Borderlands 3 players can look forward to a level cap increase later this week, and a new in-game event kicking off next month.
During an episode of the Borderlands Show today, Gearbox discussed the level cap increase and the Borderlands 3 in-game event Revenge of the Cartels.
Alongside the Love, Guns, and Tentacles DLC on March 26 comes another level cap increase. It will now be 57, up from 53. This will allow you to earn four additional skill points and equip two capstone abilities at once.
Also this week you can participate in the ECHOcast Twitch Extension event. For streaming fans, the new Moxxtail ECHOcast Twitch extension event will provide you with a new way to both “engage with and support” your favourite streamers. The new event takes advantage of Twitch’s premium currency “Twitch Bits” and allows viewers to “collectively create cocktails” that will buff streamers once they’re delivered in-game.
In April, you can expect two more free content updates: Mayhem Mode 2.0 and the Revenge of the Cartels seasonal event.
Revenge of the Cartels sees the return of Maurice who will task you with taking out cartel operatives throughout the Borderlands. Should you meet Maurice’s quota, you will be sent to the Mansion which is a new location. Once there, prepare yourself for an “intense boss battle.” There will be three different factions to fight, and the combat in this area will change with each playthrough.
The event will last six weeks but can be toggled off and on for the duration of the event.
In the meantime, you can enjoy the DLC Guns, Love, and Tentacles which is included in the Borderlands 3 Season Pass and the Super Deluxe Edition.
