We’ve recently seen eastasiasoft struggle to entertain the masses with the likes of Red Death on Xbox One. Today though we see the company try to deal more of the same twin-stick bullet-hell madness with the launch of Null Drifter on Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch. The question is, will the minimalist presentation and promise of maximized action actually deliver?

Our full review of Null Drifter on Xbox One is currently in the works and once live will be able to fill you in with the finest of details, but what you need to know right now is that Null Drifter is available for purchase and download on Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch – and all with just a silly cheap £4.19 price tag attached; and even then if you’re getting in early you’ll find that dropping to an even more ridiculous £3.35.

In anyone’s book, that’s silly money for a new Xbox One game, and so if you’re in the market for a cheap timewaster to help pass the days, Null Drifter could well be it.

But what does it bring the gaming scene? Well, as already mentioned this is a game sold on the back of the minimalistic world that many have started to embrace. Working as a 1-bit lo-fi sim, it’ll give you the opportunity to become the best damn space fighter the galaxy has ever seen, as you work your twin-stick magic to navigate through multiple missions set across a bullet-hell world.

Multiple challenges are promised, as are frenetic battles, as you attempt to prove yourself to the Project Starship world.

Got what it takes? Pop yourself over to the Xbox Store should you prefer the Xbox One gaming scene, or the PlayStation Store or Nintendo eShop if you’re one of those who wish to work with a different controller. We won’t judge.
