You Can Pet A Dog Until It Fights On Your Side In Ghost Of Tsushima: Legends

PC

Ghost of Tsushima: Legends is out now for PlayStation players to enjoy and if you haven’t checked it out yet, you can learn all about it with our interview with the game’s creative director right here. With raids and various co-op missions, there is a lot to enjoy, but there is one aspect of the newly added New Games+ that is very important: yes, you can pet the dog. Even better? You can turn bad dogs into the goodest of good boys by giving them all of the love!

When speaking with Tsushima’s creative director Nate Fox, we took a break from talking heavy raid mechanics and becoming a demi-god to discuss the most important topic of the all: puppers. When talking about the various new charms players can utilize to customize their experience with New Game+, Fox tells us “I think a really good example of this new addition is that there is the charm of canine recruitment that allows you to sneak up on an enemy Mongol dog and if you pet it enough, he’ll suddenly start fighting on your side.”

Keep giving that good boy those pets, and he’ll stay by your side when you need him. If you were on the fence about Legends before, let that sway you: you can, in fact, pet the dog. It’s 2020, we need all of the good news we can get and it’s a playful addition to a game that has a very sombre and evolving narrative.

As for what else Legends has to offer, there are several ways to live out that Samurai fantasy with friends through additional co-op story missions, an incredibly challenging raid, and Survival Quests. The New Game+ addition also brings a lot more fantasy into the title, making it a completely different experience for returning players when diving right in.

The latest update is free and is available now for PlayStation 4 players. Have you had a chance to jump in and check out what Legends has to offer in Ghost of Tsushima? Sound off with your first impressions in the comment section below!
