Blue Reflection: Second Light Demo Now Available from PlayStation Store, Post-Launch Content Details

Publisher KOEI Tecmo and developer Gust Studios have released a demo for their upcoming JRPG Blue Reflection: Second Light. The demo can be downloaded from the PlayStation Store and Nintendo eShop from today, October 25. The publisher also detailed a series of free updates due to release after the game has launched.

The demo includes Blue Reflection: Second Light’s prologue as well as a story demo. The prologue puts players in the shoes of Ao when she first awakens in a dreamlike world.The story demo then continues onwards while introducing the basics of crafting, exploration, and combat. Those who complete the prologue will get the “Bunny – Head Accessory” and the Fragment “Preparing for the Unknown” as bonuses for use in the full game when it is released on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on November 9.

Blue Reflection: Second Light’s post-launch content begins two weeks after the game’s release. On November 23, an update will add new Photo Mode filters such as watercolor and hatching. Players will also be able to take photos while they’re in their Reflector battle form. The following month on December 21, more photo frames and idol poses will be added to Photo Mode. A Photo Studio can aso be built in school development. In 2022, the first update of the year will arrive on January 14 and adds more features to Photo Mode. These include a Pixel Art filter and more poses.

Away from Photo Mode, the December update also adds a hardcore difficulty mode called MUST DIE. In this mode, battles are “extremely challenging” as enemies are more powerful, but the plus side is there us a bigger chance of enemies dropping items. Finally, there will be a collaboration with the upcoming game Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream. Those who own the “Summer Bikini” pre-order bonus for Blue Reflection: Second Light as well as the “Comfy and Casual” pre-order bonus for Atelier Sophie 2 will be able to use the costumes in both games.

Blue Reflection: Second Light releases on November 9.
