It has been a few months since Nintendo held a Maximus Cup for Tetris 99, when the company celebrated the launch of Kirby and The Forgotten Land. Since then, the company has been very silent in regards to any news on the 3 year old Tetris game.
As of tonight, that has changed. The 30th Maximus Cup has been announced by Nintendo. However, it isn’t an ordinary Maximus Cup. Instead of having to get 100 points to unlock a new theme, this Maximus Cup will allow players an opportunity to get some themes they missed. From August 5th through 10, each day will feature a returning theme that players can unlock for 10 points.
August 5th will have the Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury theme. August 6th will have Miitopia’s. August 7th will feature the theme for Mario Golf: Super Rush, August 8th has Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD’s theme, August 9th will have the theme for WarioWare: Get It Together and August 10th will have the Metroid Dread Samus theme. The announcement tweet is down below.
