SEGA‘s financial report for the first quarter of the fiscal year recently released. In it, the company discussed how the sales have been doing, compared to the previous year. According to SEGA, net sales (+11.2%), profit (+7.5%), and entertainment contents division sales (+11%) were all up year-on-year.

As for SEGA’s gaming division, it wasn’t that great. The release schedule in the fiscal year’s first quarter, which ended on June 30th, had Sonic Origins, a PC revamp of Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Mega Mix, and a Nintendo Switch port of 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. Because of this, 5,140,000 copies of games were sold during the quarter, which is down 22% year-over-year.

However, the company is not worried. Sonic Frontiers, remastered versions of 3 Persona games, Soul Hackers 2, Two Point Campus and Endless Dungeon are all slated to release later in the year, and SEGA expects that this much stronger lineup will help a lot with profits.
