Evade the beady eyes of the boss in Work from Home

Winning the award for ‘most on the nose commentary about COVID’ is today’s Xbox release, Work from Home.

A party game most akin to the likes of Overcooked! and Moving Out, Work from Home sees a group of players attempt to hide from their boss, slacking off from their job in literally any way they can imagine.

Releasing today on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, Work from Home, strangely enough, is actually still set in the office. Developers 4D Creativity Limited insist that the key to success in this fun little party game is to mix ‘slacking’ and ‘pretending to work’ in a way as not to raise too much suspicion from those higher up. Now, I’m sure we’ve all been in a similar situation, bored to death when sitting at their desk, churning out spreadsheet after spreadsheet, so we can definitely relate to your colourful avatars condemned to the same fate.

Whether you are running amok in a noodle bar, drilling away on a construction site, or indeed found sprinting down the halls of an office block, the aim of the game is to use whatever items you can to have fun with your colleagues. Your colleagues, of course, being up to three other couch-based players in local co-op.

Soon enough, as is the case with any party title, the arguments will surely come to the fore as the pre-assigned roles inevitably go out of the window, leaving the group of you to fend for yourselves as the big bad boss comes in to inspect your work.

Work from Home is now available on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. For either console, you can pick up a copy of the game via the Xbox Store – a purchase will set you back £14.99.

Now, back to work!

Game Description:

“Work from Home” is a co-op party game for 1 to 4 players. Players act as workers who slack off behind their boss and pretend to work when their boss is around. Appropriate allocation of “slacking” and “pretending to work” is the workplace survival rule in “Work from Home”. Use all the things you can reach in the workplace to slack off and have fun with colleagues. Enjoy your time, with pay!
