Physical games tracker GfK Entertainment has released the latest UK sales charts. This time, the GfK Top 10 is for the week ending February 5th, 2022. This is the second week that Pokemon Legends: Arceus has been available in the region and, once again, the game has been able to top the charts at #1.
The new Pokemon game didn’t do so easily, however. Not only did the game see a 72% drop in physical sales week-on-week, but it had to hold off the debut of Dying Light 2, which managed to chart at #2. Pokemon Legends: Arceus is one of 5 Nintendo first party games on the charts, and that doesn’t even count the Switch version of Minecraft, which continues to do well.
Another Nintendo-related game that had a big week is, believe it or not, Mario & Sonic at the Tokyo Olympic Games 2020. A combination of retail promotions and the arrival of the Beijing Winter Olympics has resulted in a 263% jump in physical sales for SEGA’s game, enabling it to chart at #15.
