Gary McKay has offiically been named the permanent BioWare studio general manager following the departure of Casey Hudson. He stepped into an interim role following Hudson’s departure and after careful deliberation, he’s staying in this role going forward. Crucial’s MX500 SSD is one of the best budget SATA drives around and today you can pick up a 500GB model for a new all-time low price of just £42 in the UK. The price drop comes courtesy of Amazon UK, who have clearly forgotten that their big annual Prime Day bash starts next week
Back 4 Blood is the spiritual successor of Left 4 Dead, the beloved four-player FPS where players were tasked with surviving the zombie apocalypse while sprinting to safety across an infested America. Back 4 Blood continues that group-based tradition but with bonus modes for you and your friends to dive into. One such mode premiered
The looter-slasher action-RPG Godfall is getting its first paid expansion later this year, adding a fiery new realm, new story missions and – yeah, you get it, all the usual DLC things. Much more importantly, it’s also adding a bunch of shiny new fashion. From the looks of things we’re getting some stylish animal helmets
Brawlhalla fans, get ready to hang ten, eat pizza, and kick butt because the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are joining the fray. Ubisoft announced during today’s Forward presentation that Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo will invade the free-to-play fighter today. Couple today’s news with the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredders Revenge, and it looks
The Tribeca Film Festival has nothing to do with E3, aside from the fact that it’s going on right now. Oh, and they invited eight upcoming narrative-focused games to be involved this year for their first game award category. Several of the bunch, Sable, Harold Halibut, Kena: Bridge Of Spirits, and more are games we’re
We’ve got our first look at Netflix’s The Witcher series, casting news for the live-action Resident Evil movie reboot, and now we’ve got confirmation of a new Splinter Cell … the TV series. Netflix’s Splinter Cell TV series was revealed during the final day of the streaming company’s Geeked Week and while it’s not a trailer, we do have
The first gameplay trailer for Evil Dead: The Game arrived today, giving a peek at Ash Williams’s ongoing struggle to not get kicked in the dick by zombies. It reminds me a bit of Dead By Daylight and Hunt: Showdown, with artifacts to find, monsters to mash, and one player out there on the side
Tales of Arise, is the long-awaited next game in the storied Tales franchise, acting as a reinvention of the beloved JRPG series. After seeing a delay out of 2020, we haven’t heard much from Bandai Namco about the new game until recently - when a release date of September 10 was unveiled. Today, at Summer Game Fest, we

Baldur’s Gate is coming back to this gen with a new Dungeons & Dragons title to enjoy. We’ve had a few up close and personal looks at the upcoming RPG, but the team over at Tuque Games and Wizards of the Coast have more to share. This time, we’ve got new Dungeons & Dragons: Dark
Have You Played? is an endless stream of game retrospectives. One a day, every day, perhaps for all time. The thing people remember about co-op prison escape game A Way Out has nothing to do with the actual game itself. People remember the man doing a bad word on the internet telly in the lead
Panic’s Playdate handheld had a big coming out party today with a video update that showed off its first slate of games and revealed its price/pre-order date. One of the most exciting announcements was the news that Lucas Pope, acclaimed creator of Papers Please and Return of the Obra Dinn, is making a new game
What happens when three farmers go on an adventure together? I’ve got no clue, because in Wildermyth it’s a bit different each time. The tactical combat RPG tells procedural stories, allowing your characters to develop their own histories and relationships in each playthrough. Wildermyth is nearing the end of its own adventure, with a full
A new Mass Effect Legendary Edition update is here and fixes some of the more unusual issues players were having. Issues like Trophy glitches, pre-rendered cutscene darkness, and more. While the Legendary Edition is far less buggy than the original trilogy (big ‘ol head Shepard from Mass Effect 2, anyone?), that doesn’t mean it was
FMV is a curious beast. Whenever you see someone doing a game with FMV bits in it you assume it’s kind of a retro oddity and they’re almost doing it as a joke. Like, when they were a kid they really liked that weird 70s animated version of The Lord Of The Rings that had
I wrote about the Guerrilla Collective indie game showcase earlier today, and mentioned one game stood out to me from the mix. El Paso, Elsewhere was it: a Max Payne-inspired shooter about diving through a haunted motel to stop Draculae, the vampire you loved.
You might not know that Ubisoft, like EA and Microsoft, has its own game subscription service called Ubisoft+. The idea here is that you get full access to the ultimate editions of Ubi games as soon as they’re released, as well as the 100+ games in the publisher’s back catalogue – including Assassin’s Creed, Far
Scarlet Nexus finally arrives later this month. To get players primed and ready, Bandai Namco released a new explainer video that serves as an in-game synopsis of the game’s dual protagonists, the monstrous creatures known as the Other, the super-powered OSF, and more. The eight-minute trailer dives into the history and abilities of Psionics, humans
Earlier this week, Lionsgate offered a few character teasers for the upcoming Borderlands movie. Each cast member was shrouded in darkness, and it looks like that trend is continuing with the latest reveal. We’ve got a full Borderlands movie cast photo with small details of color, but it looks like this ramp-up could be teasing
It’s almost E3 time, which means gaming announcements are dropping soon! Like clockwork, the rumors are flying, and the hype train is at full speed, which makes the need to temper expectations all the more vital. Deep Silver is doing just that following the announcement that its parent company, Koch Media, has a few reveals
Have You Played? is an endless stream of game retrospectives. One a day, every day, perhaps for all time. Tetris. We all know Tetris. We all have feelings about Tetris, one way or the other. Tetris Effect is Tetris, but with lots of flashy effects and cool backgrounds and music designed to help you slip

We’ve learned quite a bit about Far Cry 6 recently, including new characters, the blood of rebellion, and what the next step for the Ubisoft franchise has to offer longtime fans. For those that were curious as to whether the beloved Arcade Mode and map editor would be making a comeback, we’ve got some bad
Exploring backwater planets, recruiting pals and making important decisions that could come back to haunt you – I could be talking about Mass Effect, but I promise I’m not (this time). These are the sorts of things you can get up to in Klei Entertainment’s Griftlands, which has now left early access. It’s a brilliant
Earlier this year, voice actor Roger Craig Smith tweeted he was vacating the role of Sonic the Hedgehog after a decade of lending his voice to the character. Smith, who had voiced Sonic in the games and cartoon series since 2010, tweeted a heartfelt goodbye with an image of a broken blue heart in January. Smith followed
In the late 90s and early 2000s one of my gaming heroes was an oddly proportioned anthropomorphic royal blue erinaceinae. Sonic the Hedgehog, as he’s known to you and me, was largely popular in this time period, with a string of successful Sonic Adventure games being accompanied by a non-canon animated TV series Sonic Underground.
The current Need for Speed game may be in limbo at present so developer Criterion can help out with the Battlefield franchise, but Electronic Arts has announced it is sunsetting several older Need for Speed titles. Not only will the the five affected Need for Speed games no longer have access to their online features when
